Do you know how baby elephants are programed to not run away? A big chain is put on their leg and fastened to a post in the ground. The baby elephant doesn’t have the strength to pull it out. He tries and tries, but he just can’t do it.

After a while, his brain is programed in such a way the makes him believe he can’t break the hold that has him tied. As the elephant grows bigger, the chain remains on and sometimes the chain is replaced by only a rope. Since the elephant is "programed" to believe he cannot break it, he doesn’t even try and therefore, stays close to whatever the chain is fastened to.

I bring this up because most people reading this are part of the internet marketing world. If you have NOT succeeded (whatever that means to you) then maybe you should start to think if you’ve been programed or not, like a baby elephant.

No, not being chained or tied up, but rather what is holding you back? Have you been programed with (insert something here) and just go through your internet life believing it?

A new year is upon us. A lot of people have made resolutions. But just remember, a resolution only works if you STOP doing what got you to want to do the resolution in the first place. So get out there and and succeed!

Stay tuned for some MAJOR changes coming soon!

Recently, I stumbled on to something that launched a whole new perspective on how to create new products, especially Ecourses. It wasn’t a magical creation pill, it was just everyday stuff that I took for granted.

Most people brush their teeth a few times a day and don’t really pay attention to what they are doing, they just brush, spit, and go on. I recently broke in a new toothbrush and OMG! What a different feeling it was! I was actually enjoying brushing my teeth, which I’m sure makes my dentist happy.

As I was doing this new found enjoyment, I realized that a small change in an everyday occurence gave my attitude a boost, and when I took that boost and applied it to developing a new product, it was amazing the things I was thinking. It was like the new toothbrush WAS a creative magic pill that woke me up from my everyday routine.

Since I’m in the business to teach, I couldn’t just let this great training activity go to waste, so I’m sharing it with the world. I encourage everyone who reads this to take something they do everyday, like brushing your teeth, and add a new element to it. Maybe be like me and get a new toothbrush, use a new toothpaste. How about cooking? Maybe use a different pan or skillet? Drink from a different coffee cup, or maybe try a new brand of coffee?

The point is, do something out of the ordinary that makes you really think about what you were doing before, whether its better or worse doesn’t matter because the excersice is to be AWARE of what you were/are doing.

Getting the awareness may wake up a part of your mind that can make you some big $$ with using Ecourses in your current business. I know it has for me, just wait until you see what’s coming down the pipe for Ecourses from me! A brand new product is about to be launched that will be a total blast for you! Coming soon!

One of my pet peeves are people who ASK for excuses. Let me explain…

If you ask someone something that is really none of your business, you’re just asking them to give you an excuse, which makes both parties feel bad and doesn’t ad credibility to anyone in that situation.

Someone called me today, out of the blue, and wanted to chat about something I signed up for over the internet; No problem. After all, I did sign up for it. After about 10 minutes of this guy asking me personal questions (which I didn’t answer by the way as I didn’t feel it was relevant to what we were doing) he said, "now hang on, I’m getting one of my senior reps to chat with you on the phone, do you have an hour to spare?"

Since this was a call I didn’t have planned I politely said "not at this moment." Then he said the magic words that set me off!…

"Why not?" Ohhhhhhhh, that almost made me slam the guy through the phone. But, I was being nice and didn’t.

My point is, what difference does it make why not? If I don’t have the time, I don’t have the time. Maybe I’m washing my hair, maybe I’m in a meeting, maybe I’m watching NUMB3RS, maybe I was working on my suntan, but the point is what difference does it make "why not"? This guy has now put me in a position to give him an excuse that doesn’t matter to anyone AND make both parties uncomfortable the next time we talk. (if we do). Is that good for anyone? Nope.

What’s this got to do with Ecourses? Quite a bit. Especially now, because everyone is making New Year’s resolutions. It’s easy to get distracted when creating your ecourse. Only YOU will know the actual reason as to why. So, make it a point to know what’s stopping you and if it’s legit, then great. But if it’s not, just get it done and forget about any excuses you may have. Once your ecourse is out there, then you’ll feel better about yourself.

Yup, my mind works in strange ways sometime.

I won’t put a link on this post, but I’ll invite you to check out the links on the rights side of this page.

This question recently came into me: How do you generate enough excitement to make them really look forward to the installments?

Most people think because they have an ecourse in a certain subject, most people will just automatically get excited about ANY ecourse within that subject.

The reality is, excitement starts with the ecourse creator. YOU have to be excited about what you created. YOU have to SHOW the excited through your words, your audios and your videos.

If you have some sort of catchy video, people will pass it on to their friends. Then they pass it on and so forth. Once that kind of excited starts, you really can’t stop it.

And where did it all start? The excitement started when YOU took action and get excited about your ecourse yourself.

Now, don’t forget your ecourse needs to live up the excitement buzz you’ve created. But the good thing about that is if you were excited enough to create ANY additional marketing for your ecourse, people pick up on it.

Just keep this in mind, excitement starts from within. It’s within you and it’s within your subscribers. You cannot make someone excited, they have to want to get excited. You can only control how excited YOU are about the ecourse.

Keep this in mind as well, excitement is contagious. If you get excited about your own ecourse, the chances of others getting excited have increased tremendously!

Now, check out all the audio goodies we have here.

Whether you have an ecourse, or an ebook, you need to market it to the world, right?

Most of the time, to sell anything properly, you should have something called a “sales page” which is a letter of some sorts
telling your potential client what’s in your product and why they should buy it.

To get a great sales letter for your webpage, here is a list of items you may want to make sure that sales letter contains.

1.Catchy Headline – since this is the first thing your clients sees, you want to grab their attention right away.
2. List of Amazing Benefits for the Reader. Tell visitors what problems your ebook (or ecourse) solves or how it will improve their lives.
3. Testimonials. Quotes from people who have read the book or from people who know you and are willing to write something great about you for your site. Of course this one is optional, especially if you’re just starting out, but it never hurts to include it somewhere.
4. A Guarantee – people flip out about purchasing stuff over the internet. A guarantee makes them feel a whole lot better about doing so.
5. Link to Purchase the Product – Believe it or not, some people forget to put this in their sales page!
6. About Four Pages Long. This one is debatable, but the more successful pages are right about this length.
7. Narrow Page With Wide Margins for Easy Reading. There’s a lot of psychology behind this reason, which I won’t get into here. Just know it works.

This is just a small list, but if you stick to it, you’ll create a pretty good sales page. Here’s an example of a great sales page: HERE

Let’s talk about affiliate marketing for a minute. Of course, we’ll focus on ecourses since that is what my main gig is.

Have you ever looked at a pro football player and say “I can’t believe he gets paid that much for playing football.”

The reality is, a majority of the time he isn’t getting paid to play football. He’s getting paid to have people WATCH him play football.

Sure, ability has a lot to do with it, but MARKET-ability is what brings in the money. The more marketable someone is, the more money that person can bring in for his football team. Even if he can contribute to the marketability of another player, that’s a good thing.

How does this relate to ecourses? Simple. If someone is well known over the internet, if that person has been talked about by others, if that person has already been in the spotlight, so to speak, the name alone brings in the money.

**side note: Yes, the product has to be good, but we’re talking about marketability right now**

What I’m saying is if you develop an ecourse, and it’s in the same subject of someone else who’s well known, why not contact that person and see if they could help you market that ecourse? (with affiliate commissions of course).

If you do it right, it will be a win-win situation for everyone.

Always remember though, these folks are contacted quite a bit so be respectful of their time and make sure your product is well thought out and complete BEFORE you approach them.

If you do this right, you are utilizing the marketability of someone else, while at the same time creating a market for yourself.

Just another way to think about affiliate marketing with your ecourse. Now, check out the Affiliate Center by clicking here.

Let me ask you, have you ever said to yourself, "That looks like it might work, I think I’ll try it." I’m sure you have. As a matter of fact, I’ll bet almost every one has said that at one time or another,

I know I have.

Think about it, what does that actually mean? I’m not here to give you a lesson on mind control or anything like that, but really think about what happens when you "try" to do something. It never happens.

I’ll give you an example. Try to stand up. Did you do it? Great, now sit back down. Now I’ll ask you again, try to stand up. If you actually did that activity, you didn’t try anything, you actually did it. Does that make sense?

Now I want you to really think about the last time you really tried to do something. What was the result? There can only be one of two results. Either you succeeded or you didn’t succeed at it, those are the only two things that can happen.

In other words, if you succeeded at "trying" something, you didn’t "try", you succeeded, get it?

I heard this definition the other day and it got me thinking about writing this article.

The word "try" can be defined as the exhibition of effort without results. A light went off within me and it made perfect sense.

In the Internet Marketing Business, there are a lot of programs out there, dozens of ways to grow your business None of these programs are set up for someone to "try" them, are they? Oh sure, there will always be someone saying "try it, what have you got to lose?" But what that actually means is (most of the time) "it’s a proven system, someone has succeeded at doing it this way but no one can guarantee it will work for you. The results are based on your efforts"

Really think about this the next time you say "Ok, I’ll try it."
